A Goober of Globs!

Friday March 4th is National Grammar Day! The day was first celebrated in 2008 by a group called the Society for the Promotion of Good Grammar.

What a great idea! I like grammar too… even sometimes me not talking goodest goodly doodly. WAIT, that was terrible grammar! I meant to say that globs like grammar too, and we want to do what we can to help the cause! There are lots of rules to learn about grammar, but let’s just start with one. Do you know what a collective noun is?

A collective noun is a word used to describe a group of things that are the same, like a pride of lions, an army of caterpillars, or a school of fish! The words pride, army and school are the collective nouns! You see what I’m saying? No? How about now:
Army of caterpillars
Can you think of other examples of collective nouns? Let me know in the comments!
